Notes from the Installation Team
The Xantrex PROwatt Inverters are great option for those who don't want to invest in larger high priced whole-house pure sine wave inverters that is hard wired to the RV's electrical system.

Update: 3/30/2012 I have two inverters in my 5th wheel. A 1000 watt modified sine wave and a 3000 watt modified sine wave. I just removed the 1000 watt modified sine wave and replaced it with a PROwatt 1000... which is really a 900. The main purpose of the PROwatt is to run my fridge on AC and to power my electronics.

I haven't done any real life testing yet but I did power up the fride (which pulls 30 amps dc on cool down) for about 10 minutes and the PROwatt 1000 remained totally silent. The cooling fan did not kick on under the load of the fridge. The PROwatt 1000 powered up my 26" flat screen LCD TV and Bueray player with no problem.

The no load draw of the PROwatt 1000 as registered on my IPN-Pro remote was .7 amps. The remote switch works like a champ and beeps when the inverter is turned off. It didn't beep when the inverter was turned on.

I'll update my field experiance with the PROwatt 1000 later this summer.

Update: 10/31/2012 PROWatt 1000 passes the test! I used my PROwatt 1000 for about 72 hours a week from May thru early October while I was up at the lake. The PROwatt performed perfectly easily powering anything I asked it to power under 1000 watts with out a hiccup. For the pice the PROwatt inverter is a good buy!

PROwatt inverters are easy to install with six easy steps:

1. Fasten the inverter in a dry area that allows air ventilation. Do not install the inverter in the battery compartment! Battery gassing can corrode internal parts shortening the life of the inverter.
2. Next install the 8 gauge AWG chassis ground wire to the inverter and RV chassis.
Then install the fuse on the positive battery post.
4. Next connect the negative DC lead to the inverter then to the negative battery post.
Make sure the inverter is switched OFF and connect the positive DC lead to the fuse that was previously installed on the battery, then connect the lead to the positive connection on the inverter. Be prepaired for a small spark when you make this connection!
Turn on the PROwatt inverter and plug the load directly into the inverter.

What you need to Acquire
4 - #10 Screws to secure the inverter to RV
1 - Set battery to Inverter cables
1 - Length of 8 gauge AWG copper wire to ground inverter to chassis
